Jr. League of Boston Uncommon Kitchens - Tour and Lecture Series

The Jr. League of Boston kicks off its Uncommon Kitchens Tour and Lecture series tonight with a Toast of the Tour tasting party tonight at The Boston Design Center. The sixth floor kitchen design studios will be hosting this party, which should be a lot of fun!

On Saturday, June 5th, the Tour takes us to several of downtown Boston's most beautiful kitchens in private homes, designed by some of the area's most accomplished designers.

And through the month of June, there will be a fantastic lecture series given by a great group of designers as well. I'm honored to have been included in this group!

Kicking off the lecture series is Sally Wilson of the award winning Wilson Kelsey Design in Salem, MA. One of their many projects was recently featured on the cover of New England Home magazine (check out the cover pic on the upper right side of my blog). Sally will be speaking about this major project at her lecture Renovation Transformation on Wednesday, June 9th at 11:00am at the College Club in Boston.
Get a behind the scenes look at the cover story featured in the May/June 2010 edition of New England Home Magazine This lecture features a slide show and seminar illustrating a dramatic home transformation, including a brief look at the intriguing history of the ocean front estate. You will be taken on a digital tour of the featured home, whose interior architecture and decor is very continental – echoing the style of a European villa. Included are before and after photographs of many of the rooms in the house, illustrating the very dramatic changes.
Award winning designer, Sally Wilson, ASID, will discuss the design process and how that process helped identify, develop and implement the homeowner’s vision of the potential of the carriage house interior. The “uncommon” kitchen of this home was recognized with two regional design awards last fall.

I will be presenting a lecture called Strategic Splurges on Wednesday, June 23rd at 11:00 at the Boston Design Center.
Linda Merrill will share her tips and tricks for making the most of any budget while retaining a high-end look and quality. Linda’s design for a South End townhouse living room was recently featured in The Boston Sunday Globe Magazine in an article titled "Strategic Splurges". This slideshow and lecture will describe how Linda and her client achieved a beautiful final result while maximizing resources. The lecture will also include Linda’s own condo kitchen renovation and other inspirational projects and products.

Reception to follow at the beautiful Grange Showroom and includes a sneak peak at their new dining room collections
